“With Our daily performance we approach the tutorial as a new type of ritual”, this is what Giuseppe Chico and Barbara Matijevic (the two directors) told us about the show.
Before describing the show I want to define what a ritual is:
A ritual is a prescribed order for performing a ceremony, especially one characteristic of a particular religion or Church. The rituals that we saw in the show were, the rituals for controlling one’s heart beats; rituals for boosting group cohesion; rituals for producing mental states and survival rituals.
The performance is a poetical approach of the tutorials that tries to show to the society the performative part that we can find in every tutorial.
In Our Daily Performance, five performers demonstrate to the audience with various body techniques, including dance, the creation of the inexhaustible stock of Youtube. More specifically of the How-to videos like How to act? How to react physically during a rape situation? How to play handball? Or how to move if u are injured?.
Watching this show if you don’t understand the language it could be not a good idea because the language plays a major role, as Giuseppe Chico told us, everything from the movement an the sound was built around the language that he defines as the main movement.
I didn’t really understand the show, because I don’t speak French or Dutch so I can’t write about how the script was written, and this is because I want to focus on the visual part of the show.
Visually the show was very contemporary and fresh, the lights the sounds and the a skills of the actors were astonishingly interesting.
Just from the visuals you can’t really understand the whole show but you can catch from the movements and from the intention that the actors put in the movements that it is an ironical show, which deals with many topics, maybe at the end it treats to many topics.
The interesting thing of Our Daily Performance is the way that tutorials are treated, which is a very fresh way that you can’t find easily in theatre.
I think the show is risky, because you might like it and at the same time you might hate it, because it is something new, different from other classical shows that we can easily find.
The beautiful aspect of this show is that in its difficulty it is simple and opened to anybody.

Prima di descrivere lo spettacolo voglio definire cos’è un rito:
Il rito è un complesso di norme che regolano le cerimonie di un culto o una conformità con una prassi abituale.
I rituali che abbiamo visto nello spettacolo erano, i rituali per controllare i battiti del cuore; rituali per rafforzare la coesione di gruppo; rituali per produrre stati mentali e rituali di sopravvivenza.
La performance è un approccio poetico dei tutorial che cerca di mostrare alla società la parte performativa che possiamo trovare in ogni tutorial.
In Our Daily Performance, cinque artisti dimostrano al pubblico con varie tecniche corporee, tra cui la danza, la creazione dell’inesauribile stock di Youtube. Più specificamente dei video della categoria “How to act”.
Infatti in questo spettacolo troviamo le risposte a domande come: Come reagire fisicamente durante una situazione di stupro? Come si gioca a pallamano? O come muoverti se sei ferito?
Guardare questo spettacolo se non capisci la lingua potrebbe non essere una buona idea perché come ci ha detto Giuseppe Chico, la lingua ha un ruolo importante, perché tutto, dal movimento al suono è stato costruito attorno alla lingua che Giuseppe Chico definisce come la prima forma di movimento.
Non ho ben capito lo spettacolo, perché non parlo il francese, quindi non posso esprimere un parere riguardo al testo e per questo mi voglio concentrare sulla parte visiva dello spettacolo.
Visivamente lo spettacolo era molto fresco, le luci, i suoni e le abilità degli attori erano sorprendentemente interessanti.
L’aspetto che più mi è piaciuto di questo spettacolo è che potrebbe essere adattato in qualsiasi tipo di ambiente, ma probabilmente mi sarebbe piaciuto di più se fosse stato meno legato ad un testo è più focalizzato sul movimento.
Mi piacerebbe guardarlo di nuovo in inglese perché vorrei davvero apprezzarlo e capirlo al 100%.
Nonostante ciò, lo consiglio a tutti perché nella sua difficoltà risulta molto semplice e fresco.
